The Winslows - Rebrand / Singles

After a hiatus, The Winslows returned with a new lineup and in need of an identity change that followed suit with the new songs. With the mid-2000's specifically pinpointed as an exact focal point for new designs, I had a clear an idea on how to move forward.

Inspired by magazines and other bands of the time, a plain Arial font was a match in the band's vision and garnered much love very quickly. Paired with the usage of basic photoshop tools, half-tone effects and bold colours to mimic mid-2000's design trends - it was exactly the design the band wanted. With the adjoining "out now" social media posts, I changed the designs to pique further interest online - as these hadn't been seen before, unlike the announcement of the single artworks in weeks prior.

Each poster was handcrafted and part of a limited run series alongside the release of the EP and it's singles. Each design took longer than the last, as they were physical, A3 collages that included hundreds of images sourced through the band's photo catalogue. I estimate that these took me around a month to complete and sold out in mere hours after their announcement.

Finally, you can see the development of the final logo in the last images and the one that was settled on the moments eyes were laid upon it. I made a special, real spray painted version, that shone bright using a custom stencil. This stood out, plainly due to just how unique it looked against a busy grassroots music scene - where attention is key to survival.
